Boxing Day Handicap 2013

It was a cold and frosty start to Boxing Day 2013 but that didn’t stop 37 hardy souls from running around the paths in Bedewell Park for this year’s Billy Robertson Memorial Handicap in aid of St. Clare’s Hospice.

In the 2-lap race, Anna Sandbach was first past the post in 15:59.  In race time order, Amelia Leslie took the honours with an actual time of 13:20.

In the 3-lap race, Malcolm Leece was first past the post and claimed the Billy Robertson Memorial Shield in a time of 22:37.  The fastest actual times were recorded by Andy Burn, 15:19 and Stacey Rogers, 18:13.  Stacey also gets a special mention for her ‘Arctic Combat’ style running kit for the day!  Full results available from the links below.

Many thanks to the volunteer helpers who were out early salting the paths and redirecting the course away from a newly formed frozen lake!  Thanks also to officials for their help but mainly to the runners themselves who donated over £175 for a great cause.
