To help support Sport Relief 2014, 88 athletes, parents, grand parents and siblings from the Junior and Mini Athletics clubs turned out on Friday 21st March to take part in the first ever Monkton Stadium “Upto a Mile”. Both younger and older athletes ran, jogged and walked around the track to complete a fantastic total of 100 miles. They all helped to raise a generous £300.00 on the night with more money to come in the form of sponsorship.
A BIG Thank You to all who took part and helped JHAC and Monkton Stadium support this worthy cause.
Wishing all our Junior Athletes a Happy New Year. We hope that you had a great Holiday. Just a reminder that the Junior Athletics sessions will restart on:

Jarrow & Hebburn athletes battled strong winds at Temple Park on Saturday 14th December as they competed in the North East Counties XC Championships. Olivia Bateman stormed away from the following field to win the U15 Girls individual title 21 seconds clear of Darlington’s Mikayla Jordens.
Later in the afternoon, Alex Snook (5th) was followed home by Elaine Leslie (8th) and Stacey Rogers (9th) as they romped to the Senior Women’s Team Championship 15 points clear of Durham City Harriers in second place.

On Sunday November 17th Alex Snook finished third overall in the Brampton to Carlisle 10 Mile Road Race which also incorporated the Northern 10 Mile Championship.
