The Cock Crow 5k and Junior 2k Fun Run will take place on Tuesday 9 July 2024, hosted by Jarrow and Hebburn AC.

The 2k Junior Fun Run will start at 6.45pm and the Cock Crow 5k race will start at 7.15pm.

The main event is a 5 kilometre multi-terrain race, which starts on the Bowes Railway Path near Monkton Business Park in Hebburn and follows undulating gravel and tarmac footpaths through countryside and parkland, before finishing back at the Business Park. Entries will open via this link on 21 May and will close on 7 July 2024. Places are limited, so please register as soon as you can. Entries will only be available on the night if the maximum number of participants allowed has not been reached online by 7 July.

The junior event is a 2 kilometre junior-fun run, which heads 1km out and then 1km back along the Bowes Railway Path, starting and finishing at the same point. Entries for the junior run are available on the night only.

Race headquarters, registration and awards presentation for both events is at the Cock Crow Inn, Mill Lane, Hebburn, NE31 2EY.

Race entry fees: £10 for affiliated online entries, £12 unaffiliated online entries, £13 entries on the night.

There are prizes for first three male and female finishers, plus veteran age categories and team prizes. The full prize list will be published on this page closer to the time.

Car parking will be provided at St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy, Mill Lane, Hebburn NE31 2ET. There is limited parking at The Cock Crow Inn, but this is prioritised for race officials, volunteers and pub customers. The nearest Metro stations are Hebburn and Pelaw (1.5 miles each) or Fellgate (1.6 mile).
