Join as an athlete or runner

Jarrow and Hebburn AC welcome runners and athletes of all ages and abilities, from beginners to budding Olympians, and our coaches take pride in helping our members achieve their goals. We have thriving junior, senior and masters groups across endurance running, track and field. Our main club nights are Tuesdays and Thursdays, but other sessions take place throughout the week. Please visit our junior training (ages 8-16) and senior training (ages 16+) pages for more information on training times. Prospective members are welcome to attend up to two sessions before deciding whether or not to join the club (charges apply for sessions taking place at Monkton Stadium).

To join Jarrow and Hebburn AC, please go to our membership page here and follow the instructions. There is separate guidance for new and renewing members.

Join as a volunteer, coach or official

Volunteers are involved in every aspect of athletics; from coaching and officiating, to organising events and having a role on the club committee. We are always looking for new and enthusiastic volunteers at the club. If you are interested in getting involved, please email our Club Secretary at: Secretary@jhac.org.uk

If you are interested in taking the first step on the road to becoming a qualified coach, then please speak with a coaching representative on our Club Committee. You may already be qualified but want to take your coaching skills to the next level. Jarrow and Hebburn AC will support you along the way, with advice and assistance with costs. Coaching courses and webinars are organised and delivered by England Athletics, so please have a look at the information and resources available on their website.

We are also keen to recruit more officials to support races and athletics events across the region, particularly those hosted at Monkton Stadium. Whether you are a current member who wants to become a qualified official, or someone who would like to join the club specifically to fulfil that role, we will support you and cover costs. Please visit the England Athletics for more information, with details of the latest officiating courses.
