Masters Competition

The North East Masters Athletics Association (NEMAA) provides athletics competition for both male and female athletes aged 35 and over. Masters athletics is not just for seasoned competitors; anyone can give it a go, whether you are are an established club runner, someone looking to get back into it, or a complete novice. Six Masters track and field fixtures are held during the summer months at Monkton Stadium, always on a Monday evening. You will compete against people in your own 5-year age group, so you don’t need to worry about being matched up with ‘youngsters’. There is always a friendly atmosphere, with lots of tips and encouragement, no matter what club you belong to. If you enjoyed sports day at school, why not give it a go! There are also additional Masters track and field championship events, including the NEMAA Track and Field Championships and Pentathlon Championships.
