Race report by Carl Smith

On Sunday 18 October, Jarrow and Hebburn travelled to Morpeth again for the NECAA open meeting, incorporating the Jimmy Hedley trophy (800m) and the Stan Long trophy (1 mile). The day was dry and wind-free and fantastic day for the athletics.

Nicola Caygill ran in the 200m in a time of 25.61 and Rebecca Harrison ran in the 800m in a time of 2:31:25.

In the Stan Long mile, Helen Johnson ran 6:38, Jenna Killock 5:45, Alexis Dodds 5:23, Darcey Tullis 5:42, Garry Reay 5:11 and Carl Smith 5:14.

In the long jump Lexi Brown jumped 4.62m, Tom Paterson jumped 5.82m and Ruby Atkinson jumped 3.76m.

In the shot Ruby Atkinson threw 8.04m, Rebecca Harrison 8.35m, Ellie O`halloran 6.77m and Poppy Doherty 6.53m.

Ellie O`halloran also threw 15.90m in the discus.

Well done to all the athletes in todays event, everyone has done so well.
