Race Report by Carl Smith
On Sunday 1 November a few of the Jarra gang headed up the Northumberland Coast for the Run Northumberland Bamburgh 10km. The weather was dry but very windy and a real challenge of a course. First home for the gang was Andrew Laidler in 36:59 13th overall, next was Garry Reay in 37:54 16th overall and 1st in V50 category, Carl Smith was next home 39:21 and in 20th place. Alexis Dodd was next home and was first placed female in a time of 39:49 21st overall. Darren Parks finished in 25th place in 40:34 and was 2nd in the V45 category then we had Peter Dodd 30th in 42:10. Paul Simpson also had a fantastic race running 42:51 winning the V55 category finishing 34th overall. There was also a team prize for both male and female teams, with Jarrow men’s team seemingly finishing first, although this had not been confirmed at the time of writing this report. Well done everyone on a day full of prizes!
